Begun in 2013, Back Roads Readings was created to bring esteemed poets and writers, both local and regional, to read their work to people in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Readings were held in the Brownington Church followed by a reception and book signing in the historic Samuel Read Hall House on the grounds of the Old Stone House Museum – an intensely beautiful and bucolic setting that we enjoyed so very much.
Like so many other events, our readings were cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19. The summer of 2021 brings Back Roads Readings to its new home in Greensboro, at the Highland Center for the Arts. We look forward to this new collaboration and are excited to bring to this community, and to all of the NEK, our annual summer series of distinguished poets and writers.
